Number 7 Church Street nestles in the shadow of Windsor Castle. Built in 1525 it is reputedly the oldest Inn in Windsor, and where Shakespeare stayed briefly whilst writing 'The Merry Wives of Windsor'. We now offer a return to those bygone days.
Restored to its former glory with traditional oak panelling and Tudor and renaissance decor, we present you with the opportunity to indulge in a Tudor experience. Come and see our feature wall showing the building's original wattle and daub construction, and the restored replica death warrant for Kings Charles I which adorns the exterior, and includes the signature of Oliver Cromwell amongst others.
Ye Olde Kings Head offers you the opportunity to sample delicious local British fayre, including some long forgotten recipes, as well as contemporary cuisine. Our top class chef has used historial recipes and adapted them for today's palate, creating an exciting and innovative menu.
Our King's Room licensed bar serves wines, beers and mead in silver tankards and goblets, and traditional two and three-tier cream teas are offered in the Queen's Room, served in Royal Albert Bone China.
